Slight moan when comming to a stop

I have a moan when comming to a stop around 10 or 15mph. Almost sounds like a mud tire makes to the road when comming to a stop. Dont know where I should check first.

Tried to find out where the noise is coming from, so I had my buddy ride in back. I put Tcase in Nuetral and let it roll down hill and could hear the whine coming from the rear diff. Gonna check and change fluid.

Yep sounds like a diff bearing concern, I noticed when I got mine it sang pretty good and I REALLY noticed my 2-1 downshift because it would be quiet then downshift and load up the drive train and start singing.

btw, SWEET hummer, since I was in diapers I have loved the only thing actually worthy of that name, not the GM abortions to follow.

Just make sure it's not tires wworn and "chopped".... could be an expensive mistake.

Thought that also, but Tires are almost new and wearing good. Checked the diff and looked good. Couldnt see anything worn. The only thing that concerned me a little was the center pin had a little more play than I thought it should have. Changed fluid, maybe a little quiet, but noise is still there.

Thanks 2005JGC. H1 is the real deal. No comment on the GM wannabees

no metal in the fluid? You wont see anything without removing the differential carrier assembly and pinion out of the housing and looking at the bearings.

I had a little metal shavings on the magnet. Is there any type of write up on how to change the bearings? Thanks

Agreed, also make sure the rotors are quality too. My 05,99 and97 did this. While at stop lights, barely keep pressure on the brake and listen for the pads groaning against the rotors...
