4.7 ticking

so i threw some sea foam in my 4.7s gas tank today to give her a much needed cleaning, im not sure if its cause of that or i never noticed it but there is a slight ticking that is coming from under the jeep not sure what it is any ideas

Re: 4.7 ticking

more than likely the drivers side exhaust manifold.....bolt breaks, ruins the gasket and you get ticking at cold startup

Re: 4.7 ticking

Re: 4.7 ticking

ya dont need new manifolds...just the gasket and bolt. Check with your dealer...it may be covered

Re: 4.7 ticking

I have a lot of issues to fix with mine... the tick, popping when suspension is under load, whining from rear diff, small vibration on highway, and rough shift from reverse to drive:mad:

Re: 4.7 ticking

the rough shift from drive to reverse is the front axle isolator bushing i mentioned

Re: 4.7 ticking

Will that bushing also cause a popping sound when I put a load on the driveline?

Re: 4.7 ticking

It could, I wouldnt rule it out... I am a fix the known bad before I start stressing about the unknowns kinda guy ;)

Scott hit the nail on the head though, pretty common on both sides actualy.
