I have installed my new K&N noise maker

I have installed K&N (Mini Cooper S) and AEM (Dodge Magnum R/T) intakes in the past so I am pretty versed in the process so I thought as with the Volant folks I would share a few pics of the process(nothing too detailed) Enjoy!
Oh and please spare me the heat soak blah blah blah.:D I called it a noise maker for a reason, it's why I bought it. The factory intake is a rip off for anyone that wants to hear the Hemi (it was in my Magnum too)
I started by disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery. I did that cause I hoped it would reset the adaptives. If it doesn't , oh well:)
I started by removing the factory intake and placing it on the ground. Oh and by the way, thank you to my dealer for not tightening the hose clamp to the TB when you replaced the lower part of the factory intake because you broke one of the two clips:eek::rolleyes::mad:

Cover removed with factory intake

Air box with all the openings for the hot air to flow into (I'm sorry, I can't help myself)

Filter installed in the box (it's already hot to the touch):D

Installed with out engine cover

Looks very nice. You forgot the part of "K&N letting too much dirt in, and the oil fouling your non-existent MAF".

Very cool! Does the top of the box seal against the hood? Whenever I get one this is the way I'll go.

what I really want is to take that K&N tube and hook it up to the factory air box that contains my K&N drop in filter. anybody try something like this yet? no way in hell i'm going to pay that much for the volant.

anyway, is there a chance you could get a video of what this sounds like? open the hood and have someone else stomp on it while you record? I want some noise in my jeep without paying a grand+ on exhaust.

Airaid makes a intake tube to use with the factory airbox

Thanks bud. I'll check it out. Don't know if it will do anything but at least it will look better than the snorkus.

This k&n does looks pretty nice tough. What was the price and from where if you don't mind me asking?

im just afraid cause looks like it be easier for dirt and water/mud to get in.. :/ but ive always loved CAIs they usually make crazy noises. i had one in my 06eclipse gt that made it sound like it had a huge supercharger spooling up.

Best term EVER.

"Look for the new MOPAR Snorkus in a dealership near you."
"Dude, I like the Snorkus, but it's metal so there's 4000 degree Kelvin heat soak."

I could go on and on...

"heat soak blah blah blah" :rolllol:

I have the metal intake tube on mine. People always bashing the metal intake tube. But really.......the hot metal tube does not make any humanly noticeable difference so :gtfoslap:.

And besides....the air going through the intake at high speeds wouldn't get so hot.
