Bullbar coming

A new bullbar is coming for the WK...

"Grand Cherokee WK owners who need proper frontal protection from animal and kangaroo strikes or who need to set their Jeep up for serious 4WD terrain will be glad to hear that ARB, Australia's leading 4WD equipment manufacturer, will soon have a Bull Bar for the very popular 2011 - 2012 Grand Cherokee. ARB products are sold around the world and especially the US market where the Grand Cherokee is market leader.

WH GRAND CHEROKEE WITH ARB BULL BAR
ARB Bull Bars are made from steel and are air bag compatible and have winch mounts, heavy duty recovery hooks, antenna mounts and driving light mounts that are generally regarded as necessary for use in Australia's harsh outback and bush terrain.
ARB are expecting the new bar to be available around mid 2012.
Watch out for ARB communications about this exciting new product."

Another solution for the tow hook issue..

Yes, we even have a problem in the suburbs.
I live on Sydney's northern beaches and there are often dead roos on the side of the road. They were talking of fencing one major road that was seeing a dozen roos killed each week.
The problem when you hit a roo, is the can come through the windscreen alive and then kick the crap out of you. Fortunately we only get the smaller wallabies and grey roos in suburbia, in the bush they get the big Reds that stand over 2m tall and are not nice to hit.

Not to mention cattle, sheep, emus... All fairly common sights on outback highways.

Yeah not just roos, also things like wombats etc, basically like hitting a big ass rock.

The other thing is, if you do any 4WDing through the bush, if you get too close to a tree, a nudge bar, or brush bar as i think you guys call it, wont do crap. It will just bend and probably cause more damage than good. A decent bullbar will be able to support the weight and force of hitting a tree. Alot easier to get rid of a dent in a bull bar than in the front of your car.

We hit deer, you hit kangaroos. I would feel bad hitting a kangaroo they seem so cool on TV.

:worried:

Last dry season I took a quick drive to Devils Marbles, in a space of 400klms I past, wild ... Pigs, kangaroos, donkeys, water buffalo and to top it off ... Damn camels !! Not to mention the flaming kites and eagles in the middle of the road eating the dead road kill. Really making the 130 klm an hour speed limit an adventure ride!! Lol

I live 35kms from the city centre and see at least one a week, sure that not high risk, but thats the drive to work and back.

Any sort of travel in the country the risk is too high with no towns around to become immobile - specially in the desert...
