Chrome question

Hello All,

My new Overland will be in next Friday 03/02 and I have recently been seeing photos of the new Cherokee's that have chrome between the driver's and passenger side windows. If you look at Fields Jeep inventory you will see what I mean. I wont mind either way..I was just wondering if Jeep made a cosmetic change? :)

That's not chrome. It's plastic used to protect the black plastic underneath during transit.

It's to protect the powdercoated sheetmetal trim underneath. Ask me how I know...

Re: Chrome question

It is basically only held on via three pieces of double sided tape. For some reason, trims held on via double sided tape on my car did not adhere properly. i.e. chrome door moldings and the window trims. so I ordered all new ones and replaced them all myself. I do not trust techs at the dealer, esp with things I can accomplish myself...

The kicker is that I had to replace that same piece three times, since it being sheetmetal, when the part was shipped, it was easily damaged during shipment many times...

Had a station wagon with a chrome B pillar trim once & took it off. I like the strong horizontals on the WK2 side, makes it seem more svelte.
