de-badge gone wrong HELP
i decided to de-badge my 06 the other day and the back letters came off perfect but the front Jeep letters didnt. once i got the letters fully of there was a hard residue where the letter used to be, they were set in the clear coat. any advice?

Bug and tar remover. Or heat it up a little and then use bug and tar remover. Then put some wax where it was. That should do it

All the above and patience to boot. Be gentle to to add any scratches where the lettering used to be. Definitely clay, polish and wax after removal!

wd40 is also good at loosening up the old tape

but the problem is it was set into the clear coat so that it left ridges around where the letters were, its not that the glue wont come off but idk what to do about the clear coat i dont wanna sand it and re paint it that would suck

This happened on my '04, it's like they sprayed the clear over the letters or something. No matter what I tried I couldn't get rid of the 'ghost' letters, which is what made me think it was the clear coat. If it's really in the clear, I think you'll have to sand it then re-clear the hood
