Break-in period

Is there a break in period for the engine and brakes? Just wondering as I picked up my SRT yesterday and want to do things right. It is an awesome vehicle.

Yep....it's in the manual, too. I think it was 500 miles....don't floor it in low gears, and try to cruise on the highway as much as possible.

That card on the passenger visor has all the info you need. It's also referenced in the owners guide.

Engine break in is a debated topic and there are many schools of thought. IMO drive it like you would any other car. Just avoid high redline rpms. Some say the most crucial part of engine brake in is in the first few miles. The rings need cylinder press to force them against the cylinder walls so they can wear and make a tight fit.

As for brakes I found an empty stretch of road and bedded my brakes in.
