waterproofing for speakers in doors?
I just installed the Kappa 692.9i in the front doors yesterday. I took off the factory black sound insulation to put on sound deadener. do i need to be concerned that I now don't have the shroud over the speakers to protect them from water getting in the doors? should i be doing something for waterproofing? another concern would be for the external crossover that is exposed. any thoughts?

Re: waterproofing for speakers in doors?
I noticed this last night when I installed mine. Can anybody answer this?

Re: waterproofing for speakers in doors?
I had to slice the factory black insulation that sits inside the hole in half in order to get my speakers to fit.

So I went searching for an answer on From what I read, it is recommended to have some sort of rain cover for the door speakers. A few people used foam speaker baffles and cut out the back and bottom. I think I will try this because I have to get into the doors again anyway to put in spacers. My windows rub on the magnet just enough to need to do something about it.
