Rhino Roof Rack

After weeks of looking for a roof top basket to go ontop of my Thule bars, Rhino released there new roof top carrier. Just waiting for delivery.

You don't like the Thule baskets?

Re: Rhino Roof Rack

We went out today pursuing a roofrack solution for our Laredo and the recommended package was Thule wing bars matched up to a rhino alloy rack. We sat the alloy rack on the roof and looks a good fit (1500x1000) and with a medium bag we will get our tent, chairs, table etc all on the roof freeing up the inside again. Rack setup around a $1000 or $1600 fitted with roof bag and a sun seeker awning. We will check the camping show this week to see what deals are happening.

I don't mind the Thule baskets at all.
But I was looking for a black sporty looking basket.

I got that one placed ontop of the car and didn't like it, it was to boxy looking. Nice basket though. I was looking more at the Rola Vortex shape then the new Rhino one was released.

No worries, I wasn't sure if you had seen it as it is a different style than their other boxes

Re: Rhino Roof Rack

I like the rhino bars and the accessories they make (ie. pvc tube mounts) but I think the way they mount to the car is a bit ugly with the little black bracket that runs down to the door frame. The Thule's appear to fully utilise the cars existing rails and look very clean in comparison.

Re: Rhino Roof Rack

We had our Thule bars and rhino alloy basket fitted today . Loaded up the turbo tent , tables, chairs etc on the roof and drove to Horsham. All good, not much extra noise and we are pleased with the outcome. The Thule bars without the basket look great on the car. We bought our rack from roof rack solutions in Burke rd Camberwell, ask for Paul. We are heading for ayers rock via the oonadatta track so the rack, and the jeep, will get a good test!
