Until you get things working with your key FOB, you can prevent the alarm from arming by not using the FOB or automatic door locks to lock the car, just use the manual door lock.

For the key FOB, I'd try the batteries first (start simple!).

Good luck.

Yea you may just need new battery.

If you manually lock the door then close it, wouldn't that automatically arm the alarm system? I believe my KK did that.

If the alarm sets off just put the key in. the ignition and turn it to run to shut it off.

Or unplug the battery! My Jeep forgot it's memory so I couldn't even drive the Jeep. I have to get it reset this week.

This would be a terrible alarm if this^^ worked..................

Mine disables all electrical, including the ignition. I have to hold down a disarm button and simultaneously insert the key into the ignition then turn in order to disarm my alarm. When my key fob isn't working.

Mine is a factory installed alarm and i do have an option to put it into "valet mode."

Try putting the key in and then turning the they key from ACC -> ON, 3 times. You should hear 3 honks if done properly.

*IDK if yours is the same as mine, but it might work.

Not sure about other systems, but I know my 2005 WK does not arm the alarm unless the power locks are used, or I use the key FOB. Manually pushing down the door lock plunger mechanically locks it, but doesn't arm the system.

How is it stupid? Obviously it cannot be just any key, it needs to be one programmed to the vehicle... So if a person has THE key ANY alarm would prove pointless with your logic.

Did you not read the rest?? It prevents someone from hot wiring your car. That's the purpose behind it

Re: Shut my alarm OFF PLEASE

Yes the WCM prevents people from hotwiring a WK, without a proper key signal it wont let the vehicle run period. So back to what I said, without all the key dancing and button pressing mumbo jumbo, if you have a key you have a key, so you can disable the alarm with the key and drive away with a key in the ignition (good guy or bad), so the fact that the key in the ignition will disable your alarm being a bad idea... the bad idea is letting a thief find a key in the first place ;) thats all Im getting at.
