Stubbie Antenna replacement

I know there's the sharkfin antenna from VG, but I saw this and it's listed for our newer JGC - looks interesting in a shorter antenna for $25 + $5 shipping.

Anyone with experience on these, it seems like HQ since he mentions it's made from billet aluminum.

The Stubby is machined from billet 6061 aluminum, and then had the texture powder coat baked on. That means you can run this short antenna replacement through the brush off-road and then go through the car wash without worrying about it breaking, chipping or fading. This rigid antenna replacement will not affect any satellite services such as On-Star, GPS or Sirius Radio.

Re: Stubbie Antenna replacement

I've used stubby flexible antennas, shorter than the OEM without issue. A little loss of FM sensitivity, although I don't use FM radio that much. I think this is a solid antenna, which may mean instead of bending or breaking when contacting an object, the antena mount may just pull out of the roof or bend the roof ?

I have one on my Raptor, very high quality and good reception as well.

I had the Cravenspeed unit on. Y previous Mini. Never found a fault about it, it worked great.

That's like a whole 2 inches shorter. What's the point? Just get the sharkfin.

Just keep OE unless you have a roof rack that interferes. I don't see the point in sharkfin either. I actually like the OE one the best.

i have the mopar roof rack and the OE gets in the way as I had to unscrew it. I think the stubbie might work flush with the top of the roof rails.

Ditto, it's like a little piece of tail...(oops!)...

Yeah -- I actually hate the looks of sharkfins. I can see replacing the OE if it's in the way of a rack though. But, like others have said, a stubbie won't budge. If it gets hit, you're likely to damage the mount, or dent your roof.
