Emissions NAE or NAS

Does anyone know the actual difference between NAE California emissions and NAS 50 state emissions? These codes are from Chrysler build sheets.

What actual parts and or computer code differentiates one from the other?
Some say the only difference is the underhood sticker. I've read Federal(NAS) or 50 state emissions are randomly checked every 20~30 vehicles off a production line while every California (NAE) rated vehicle must be checked and meet the NAE standard off the production line. Do they have different parts or is the difference only found in computer tuning? Is there a difference in performance between the two??

Any input would be appreciated.

A Chrysler service mgr told me that "officially" there was no difference. So I take that to mean that "unofficially" there is a difference. I am guessing there may be a catalytic converter difference. There definately is a different emissions sticker under the hood for Calif jeeps. I want to know the HP difference at the wheels!

Never got any response to my question! Still have no idea if the only difference is the underhood sticker?? Maybe someone will answer in your new thread.
