Tuner for 3.6 and v6 regrets. Help

Ok so maybe I should have gone with the hemi. The 3.6 is pretty weak. I know it's not a sports car but it could use some more punch and torque. Scarey thing is I'm getting 13 mpg with the v6. What would I be getting if I had the hemi? Granted I'm in San francisco. It's very very hilly here and I do all city driving. I'm thinking though that with the mds system I'd be getting the same mpg. Also the price for a gallon here is very very close to five dollars for regular. With the 5.7 I'd have to put in 89. It's already running me 100 bones a tank.

Anyways are there any updates on a tuner for the 3.6. If I add a cai or the magnaflow exhaust I'll just be paying for sound. I need a tuner. Bad!

Is there anything else I can o to realistically increase hp and low end torque?

Thx!

Why would you have to put in 89? I'm getting around 14mpg city

Because jeep recommends 89 not 87 for the hemi.

Interesting to see your comments because I am in exactly the same boat. I absolutely LOVE everything about my Overland... except for the lack of power/ torque. I went back and forth between the V6 and Hemi when I was buying last summer and ulitmatley convinced myself that the V6 was plenty and I'd regret the gas comsumption of a Hemi. Living in CA also, I'm convinced the gas we get here contributes to the poor mileage. I also average 13 around town. Sure I'd get even less with a Hemi, but now I wish that would've been my choice.

Added a dual exhaust Magnaflow and KN CAI and although it sounds better, the performance hasn't changed IMO. If I lived in another state where I wouldn't have to pay sales tax on the full price of trading for a Hemi I'd do it in a second. Don't get me wrong, I really do love my Jeep... but almost daily I'm reminded that I'd love it even more if it had the V8.

Nothing would make me happier than to hear some kind of chip of tuner was available to give my V6 a bit more punch, but sounds like that's not happening anytime soon.

Wow, glad I don't have that "bad" Cali gas...at my last fill-up I calculated 16.6 mpg city driving in my Hemi. Of course our city driving consists of mainly suburban areas.

BTW, 89 is recommended, but not required.

If you have a choice of getting Hemi, get it. 3.6L V6 with 5 speed on heavy SUV will never get you good MPG. When Pentastar gets 8 speed like 300c, then it will give better number. Here in Korea, Hemi is not available, so I had to settle with V6. And I use premium gas(yesterday I filled up the tank for $200.) due to the knocking I had.

Shoulda got a v8. Mileage in the hills would have been close cause the v6 is struggling whereas the v8 would have lubbed up. Also, 87 is fine. 89 gives you a couple extra ponies cause a knock sensor advances the timing a smidge I believe. Not necessary and I have never put a drop of 89 in mine with not one knock or hickup in 10000 miles. No tuners etc for anything yet. You're stuck.
