Getting Ready to pull a Camper

Finished up some towing related stuff I've been meaning to get to this week.

Trailer brakes: It was a bitch to find a good accessible place for the brake controller in a WJ. I chose the little compartment in the center stack. Had to do some cutting on the back side.

Self Resetting Circuit Breaker and 30 amp feed wiring: Used an existing hole in the fender but am probably going to have to drill one for the other side of the bracket. I'd hoped to avoid that.

Back up Cam:Had to tear most of the interior apart to wire this puppy. Comes on in reverse and is also wired through a switch so I can turn it on going down the road. Any one planning on a back up cam the reverse feed wire is violet with a black tracer and can easily be found in the harness behind the driver side rear quarter trim panel.

Weight distribution hitch I got for $50 off of Craigslist:

And finally the "Crown Jewel" "Tony's K&N Filter Condom" that I have been saving for my final mod once I clean my filter. I'll probably throw my Superchips away after installing this super secret performance enhancer:thumbsup:

Well we're still shopping but I want to be around 26' with no slides to keep the weight reasonable. It's gonna be tough though cause we're actually downgrading from a 31' motorhome so it's hard to find a floorplan that works for us.

Looking good Dave! I like the idea of a backup cam, I might look into that. Wish I had something to tow more often with the WJ, all that power seems wasted to just launch my ass around town most of the time...

When you get the trailer I'd be curious to know the approximate weight and how well the WJ handles it.

Modern vehicle tow capacity is not limited by the amount of power they make. They're limited by their braking and what they can stop. While you might not have a problem getting something moving w/ all the power, getting it stopped under control is just as important.

Orange is too visually similar to Amber. It's just a couple shades to get from orange to amber so that's like the Thin Red Line to him.
I've heard that when he lays his eyes upon amber he can sometimes http://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sAng_angry3.gif which leads tohttp://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sAng_explosive.gif
