Installation of a Remote start kit

When i received my GC SRT8 two weeks ago in Saudi, i noticed that it doesn't have remote start option. While searching Mopar parts, i found a kit that state that the service dealer must enable the option only for GC SRT8.
The question is have any body done this and how is working please.

Re: Installation of a Remote start kit

thats true EVIL mentioned that the GC SRT8 middle east edition doesnt have a remote start

i dont recommend missing your car electricity as i dont call any professional shops would install it with warranty

i guess you might try to work a solution with dealer as they have the ability to contact the factory and ask for a genuine key

for me i will stick with what i have because you dont need to warm up GC SRT8 before driving it and for the gulf weather? i guess we do have an oven huge one that keep our cars pre-heated at all times :P

thanks Sltar for mentioning this

it is right we as middle east jeep we are not entitled for remote start
when i requested the agency for installing this option, they said they need to things a new key button and a remote chip unit to be installed in the car itself

Sltar u r right our weather is hot, but when u should wait for the jeep engine to preheat since the oil is cool and needs to heated and dont look at our weather as heating tool, it only burns us as under the bonette the 6.4 wasnt on for a while and its cool so it needs to pre heat.

another option u failed to state, is that in our weather ( 50 celsius ) we need the remote start so that the jeep can check the weather and turn on the A/C in the car so it becomes cooler. ( very essential thing for us )

dealers here are interested in our money not the variety of good options.

but cant say no to my whole car its a beauty and full of options, honestly it puts a smile on my face. :)

hope u get urs soon SLTAR

yeah i hope to get it soon as i am start to feel desperate as there is no sign yet of any GC SRT8 in kuwait

anyway my brother bought a 2012 BMW i528 and the dealer told him never pre-heat it and always start driving the car

i assumed that for every 2012 car or maybe its a BMW thing

if i must pre-heat what is the ideal time? and does it matter if we are at summer or winter? or its the same pre-heat time?

i would love to get into my car being cooled for me, though havent had a car with a remote start :P
