Pin

On page 20 of the 2012 WK2 (5th edition) owner's manual it says "At the time of purchase, the original owner is provided with a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN)."

Did anyone here receive one ? I have loooked through all of my paperwork and did not find a PIN. If you did, what form is it on please ? Dealer said to use the last 4 of the VIN but that seems both unlikely and insecure. YWTK.

Re: Pin

Curious as to what the PIN would be used for.

I had to make up a pin to sink with UConnect, but I dont think thats what its referring to.

Re: Pin

Is also in the 4th edition page 20 - this is the owner's manual, not the user's guide.

& no the Bluetooth PIN is user-selectable and different.

Re: Pin

The 2012 GCs have anti-theft radios. If the battery is disconnect and then re-connected, you must enter the PIN into the radio to re-enable it.

Re: Pin

That is something that needs to be given to the customer when purchased. Just went through a similiar situation with my Chevy truck where the original 10 year old battery finally went dead and when I replaced it the radio was locked. I never received a PIN and the radio was locked. Had to take it to dealer and $60 later my radio was unlocked.

Re: Pin

The pin is to get a replacement key fob. (read the manual.)
