Low Speed Fan Relay at idle
Greetings From Jervis Bay Australia , A fault code p1490 low speed fan relay came up on my 2003 4lt WJ Which was consistant with sitting in traffic at idle with air con off .So i purchased a new relay from Rockautos , Removed the drivers side headlight cut the plastic shroud and to my suprise no relay so i checked the passengers side still no relay my Haynes manual says it should be near the Vacuum reservoir . But using a tourch and mirror unable to see it. Can anyone assist Regards Pau.l I Have Just been Checking some threads and one comment says the two relays are behind the PDC excuse my ignorance but what is the PDC Thanks again. I Feel Like a bit of a fool PDC must be power distribution centre so if my late 2003 WJ has the relay in this position How do i get to it Thanks for your assistance.

Re: Low Speed Fan Relay at idle
PDC is indeed Power Distribution Center and its the relay and fuse box under the hood, next to the battery. Newer WJ´s have 2 relays for the cooling fan, the high speed and low speed relay´s and they are in this box. Older WJ´s where using a pulse width modulated relay, which was hidden under the right hand side headlight (viewed from drivers position).
