New WK owner few questions.
I just bought a 2009 Wk Hemi on Monday with (now) 15,116 miles. It's not certified, but the dealer I bought it from was a Jeep dealer but is now Subaru only and they had left over so i was able to get a good price. Well now I have few questions.

1) They said they changed the oil when I picked it up but by Wednesday the scheduled oil change warning is showing when I turn the car on. Is it possible they just didn't reset the computer when they finished or do you think I got lied to?

1A) I'm planning to change the oil anyway. What 5w-20 oil and filter do you recommend and should i go synthetic?

2) I have the tick i've been reading about and from what I understand its fairly normal with the 5.7L Hemi. Could it maybe related to the oil as in they didn't put the correct weight in or not change at all? Edit: I also noticed the idle is sometimes erratic by 100-200 rpms, it usually hovers around 600-700. I was however turning the car on and off about 3-4 times during a short trip up the road which is when I really noticed it. Any thoughts?

3) The keyfob I got works but it usually takes a few hard clicks to unlock the doors. Is the battery going or something else? Also, the auto start works but the car shuts off when I open the door, am I just doing things in the wrong order?

Thanks to whoever helps and i'm happy to be part of the club.

Re: New WK owner few questions.
Hey welcome ! dont worry about the infamous tick, all of us hemi guys have it some more noticable than others. Its said to be from the MDS lifters in our engine. The oil, turn the key to accessory, and press the gas pedal three times and that will reset the oil light. check the color of the oil on a white paper towel if its light in color they more than likely changed it. Synthetic is good for cold start etc, but you have to stay synthetic. Use a mopar oil filter in my suggestion, fram are awful and they have blown apart in recent years they have a cardboard filament, or whatever its called. Mopar are 7 bucks from the dealer. My keyfob does that too but ive learned to live with it, it might be the battery but im too lazy to change it haha. Hope this helps !!

Hey thanks for the welcome, I guess i'll check the oil since i've been busy all week I can now get to it.

As for the keyfob I tried the second one I got which works much better so I guess the battery is going on the other one, no big deal really.

Thanks for your help.

My key starts to do that as well and sometimes the unlock button doesnt work. I had a solder point coming lose so I just added some extra solder and wahla! Problem fixed. Dont know how many keys you got with it but if you got two keys I would suggest getting a third...that way you can program it yourself and dont have to have a stealership do it for you.

The second key I have works better.

Any thoughts on the auto start turning the car off when I open the door?

Yeah what I'm getting at tho is if your first key craps out you will have to pay even more to have another one made. If you have two keys you can program the third yourself. One key craps out and you will have to have a stealership program a spare key if you want another one.

I dont have any clue since i dont have remote start...but try checking this out...i think it starts around page 26.

Re: New WK owner few questions.
Maybe i'll get another soon, i'm somewhat strapped for cash ATM. The mod bug has hit me after only one week of owning the damn car so i'm going to save up for that for the time being.

Any thoughts on K&N vs Airraid for a CAI?

Thanks for your help.

Re: New WK owner few questions.
I personally have a K&N intake on my 4.7 which I picked up from ebay for I think 110 shipped. It was used but in MINT condition. Many people will argue as to whether the CAI actually gives you a boost in HP and MPG. I personally cant say for sure but I can say that my CAI paired up with my maggy exhaust makes my jeep sound like a beast!
