First day on the beach

The weather here in NC has been pretty good to us lately so I figured it's time to start heading to the beach. I went down to the southern end of Carolina Beach because there are less people and the sand is a little more fun to play in than the north end. This was my first time out on sand with WK2 and needless to say I was pretty impressed. Things started out a little shaky because as I was in the office paying for the access permit, I heard a call come over their radio stating they had a stuck JGC with the "serve 4wd" light on. Undeterred I aired down the tires and switched it over into sand/mud mode and never had a problem. The sand was pretty loose with a lot of ruts from others and the Jeep was able to drive all over the beach without issue. I think I am addicted to beach driving now and might spend every weekend out there. Here are some pics of the day.

There were gas stations everywhere however I went about 5 miles at around 25-30 mph until I found one that didn't already have someone using the air.

Was this at the Fort Fisher State rec area? I love going there! Not too busy and plenty of beach for everyone. Only downside is the hours. Also, once I'm done on the beach I hit up the Trading post just past the air force rec center on the left. They have an air compress on the side free of charge.

This was at Fort Fisher. Thanks for the info on the free air. I was hoping there would be some somewhere along the strip but eventually I just gave in and paid for some. I'm heading back out there today so I will definitely check out the trading post.

All you need is 4 pole holder rack for the front bumper. Can you stay on the beach over night in NC? I fish South Jersey Island Beach State park seaside NJ. Stay on the beach all night with a fire and some tallboys doesn't get better than that

I know of at least one that allows overnight camping and there are so many beaches in this state that I could imagine many of them do.
