Price check on 3M paint protection.

Checking to see if $700 is good for for 3M installed on the front bumper, leading edge of the hood and first bit of the quarter panels. As the installer called it the "highway protection" package.

Thanks for the input.

That is a good price. A good kit costs 300 and it is a lot of labor.

I think that's about the going rate for the precut film and installation but I got more coverage and paid a little less and the installer came out to my house to install mine. But my film is SunTek and not 3M so I'm not sure if that plays any part in the price difference.

I paid $299 for hood edge and front part of quarter panels.
I didnt do the bumper because its made of plastic, and any paint chips wont end up rusting.

Hoping NY NJ as the next stop is 3M or suntek protect for the front end also. Not saying I will get your price but it helps knowing somebody who knows somebody..

I got Durashield for $550 and it covers the front bumper, front of hood, front of fenders and headlights and fogs.

not to hijack, but i can't figure out if the bumper should be done or not. i thought it was plastic, in which case, seems unnecessary - but then it looks painted to me.

bumper yes or no?

Bumper won't rust but it will get pitted and be ugly

Re: Price check on 3M paint protection.

Im very surprised to see a couple guys think that just because the front bumper isnt metal that there is no need to protect it from rash and pitting. Isnt that the whole point of getting a clear bra to protect the original paint? Heck yeah you want to cover the bumper thats the most prone area on the car!!

I just ordered the 3M pre-cut kit from invisible mask and im hoping its something I can tackle myself. I only paid a little over 200 bucks for everything on the front of the car. Comes with installation DVD and all the tools needed. I am pretty handy doing fine detail stuff like this and have even done some basic window tinting before. I just didnt want to spend almost a grand to get it installed professionally. We will see what happens.
