MM 85 mm ported TB results
 
I've now been driving a few weeks with the Modern Muscle (new OEM) CNC ported 85 mm TB, and this is easily the best money of any upgrade I have spent.
Low end torque is beefed up, from a stop it pulls effortlessly. Idle is perfect, and at WOT it really hauls. Tip in throttle response is improved at all speeds and the trans shifting responds faster. There is no negative to this upgrade, just all positives, and it drives like a dfiferent vehicle. THe old TB was clean, so gunked TB was not a factor, and the only change was swapping it out. The best part, is on a 65 mile round trip, cruise set at 62 mph, the mpg read 25.1. I never once saw 22 before, and drive that same route twice a month.

Great update! Couple of questions...
What engine and how many miles When you replaced?
Any recent service items that could be variables (PVC, EGR, plugs, etc)?
Did the new TB require any machining or work to install? I know the stock mani won't work with a 90mm unit, but I have read very little about folks installing an 85mm unit...

I'm guessing not a HEMI based on mpg...:)

Do you have 2WD or 4WD? I you must have the 5.7L if you have the Overland.

It is a 5.7 Hemi with QDII AWD, and yes that mpg is real; I was overjoyed to see it jump so much with only that mod. I have 75k on the OD, and in the past 5k replaced EGR and MAP sensor. The MM TB is a direct bolt on, took 10 minutes to swap it out. $360; new OEM TB with CNC porting. Smooth, even, varaible bore all the way through, and no tune needed for WOT A/F like the 90mm. THe 90 is not a good fit for the 5.7 anyway. Some of the earlier MM ported units apparently had a lip in the bore, but not the newer ones. I also ran a bottle of seafoam in the oil and gas tank, which did make a notable improvement, but did that a few months before swapping the TB. IF you have any hemi, 5.7, 6.1, or 6.4, you need this.

Modern Muscle Performance, popular with the LX crowd, but not any Jeep forums. I cannot say how it compares to Ryan's or Fastmans ported TB; I wanted a new CNC ported unit and did not want to send in mine to get done. When I sell the Jeep the old TB is going back on, and the ported one will go on my future SRT 8 spd hemi, along with the CC.
