AEV Jack Base for WK?

Will this jack base fit the OE jack for the WK? I guess it will if the JK and WK use the same jacks.

If it fits, should I buy this or get a regular floor jack?

I just came across this scissor jack base and thought it was nice because it would take up less room than a floor jack in the cargo area.

I'm not sure if it will fit in the false floor but it will still take up less space.

Here it is: http://www.quadratec.com/products/92200_700_07.htm

Why not a scrap piece of 4x4 lumber? You could get a 2' piece for free from anyone building a deck or a cutoff piece from Home Depot. Or you could buy a 8' stick for $7 and give your 3 buddies a chunk.

$50 seems ridiculous to me for that. Just my opinion though. :D

$50 is pricey. I just want something that looks nice if in going to keep it in my WK.

You're right though. $50 is steep.

I might just go ahead and buy a jack. The 2 times I used the OE jack, I seamed very unstable. It was kinda scary.

If you're talking off road then you definitely need some type of stable base. Personally I'd build one out of wood. You could put this base inside a duffel bag so it doesn't look terrible.

You can't really use a hi-lift unless you have some solid rock rails. For offroading my TJ I use a bottle jack and wood for a base. I use to carry a hi-lift but never used it but once in over 10 years. The only time I've ever needed a jack is from getting sand in the bead, when aired down, and loosing air. I'm not sure why you'd need a jack very often unless you're in the rocks and cutting sidewalls.

Just in case I need to use the spare.

I carry a 1' long piece of 4x6 in the back to use with the OEM jack for flat ground repairs and a Hi-Lift for when the jack will not do. I have even used it on a buddies Jeep trail side with no problems.

But to answer your question, I don't know if the AEV jack base will work with ours. Quatratec's site says it doesn't, but that is only because it is made specifically for and only for the JK jack. So that doesn't mean it won't work on ours. I would just get a piece of wood and hide it in the Jeep somewhere. You might be able to strap it under the Jeep somewhere if you can't find a spot inside.

Thanks Omelet. I think it's the same jack but it's just not shape to fit in the false floor. Is the JK jack the same as the WK jack?

I don't know. The next time I am with my dad we will compare jacks and I will let you know

What about using a bottle jack instead?
