Tint?

So while I am waiting for my Overland to come in I have been trying to decide if 10% tint is what I am to go with. The shop I have used for all my other cars said that they would have to put 30% over the rear windows to match the 10% front windows. Has anyone had that % done and how was the visability out the windows at night. I see most owners have done 20% just the front windows.
Thanks

Re: Tint?

I personally would not go with 10%. Not only would it be very difficult to see out of at night, but it would be darker than the OEM tint thats on all the other windows. I see no reason to go with 10% film on the front windows. The best option that gives you a perfect match to OEM tint, still allows you see out at night without too much trouble, and looks amazing from the outside is 20%. This would be cheap as well since you only have to tint two windows. My tinter charged me $60 bucks for the front two windows. Looks incredible!

Here is my Overland with Saddle interior using 20% Llumar film on the front windows. Love it and would not recommend any other way!

5% all around put on all the windows. But that's my style. I like the privacy and security. I have no issues with driving at night, but I have years of experience with limo tint and night driving.

I second the 5% all around. Front: 5%. Rear: add 20% to factory tint, it measured 4.7%.

Re: Tint?

So just rip it off and retint. It's not " black on black on black " until you properly tint your windows

In my state they would pull you over and give you an inspection ticket with the tint you have. They give you ten days to remove the tint and then you have to get it inspected so your inspection ticket can be signed off. If you don't get it done in the ten day period then they revoke your vehicle regristration. Just FYI.:D

Re: Tint?

lol. I know the one guy said he has years of experience driving with limo tint, but regardless of how much experience if you cant see you cant see. I could not imagine trying to drive at night with windows that dark. Sometimes if im making a left turn its difficult to see through my 20%. I remember back in the day my buddy had 5% on his old Grand prix, when backing out he literally had to stick his head outside the car it was hilarious :-)

I know it looks cool thats for sure, but for the purposes of the original poster, I say just get the two front windows tinted with 20% to match perfectly and be done with it. Looks amazing!
