Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper
 
Got home today with my new limited to find what looks like a place where a strap of some sort in transit dangled and was hitting off my rear window/chrome trim/paint near rear window. Here are some pics. Hope u can see what I'm talking about: dings and scratches in the chrome trim, Knicks in the glass and paint. WHat do u think the dealer is gonna do about this since I took delivery already? Am I screwed? This is ridiculous

Damn, Smitty! I can't believe your dealer let that pass. I'd be at their door before they open tomorrow and make sure it was addressed promptly. Send a copy of this post to Lee at Jeep Customer Care so Jeep is aware of the dealer passing this off to a customer.

id be bullshit... and like angler said id be there bright and early. cannot believe they let this pass. seems like too big of a problem to overlook. good luck with it.

I would be willing to bet that it'll be taken care of. Be kind and just let them know you were excited to take it home and thats when you found it.

That sucks all the enjoyment out the pick up. Was it dark when you went to pick up?

No it was light out. Just rained and had alot of water spots on it. I looked it over but in the excitement did not see this. Bout an hr after I got home I spotted it.

I'd be filthy with the dealer, surely they would have seen that when they gave it a few wipes over prior to delivery. :mad:

I would go straight back there and not play hardball but just show them initially what you found, if they refute it, then tell them you are going to advise customer care and that delivery of a car in this state is totally unacceptable!

Should I try to have them re order? I DONT want paint work done on a brand new car. The window/trim replacement doesn't bother me as much. But paint work does.. What should I tell them I want? How much money back/free accessories or the troubles. Especially if I end up dealing with a repainted jeep?

from the pictures the paint part doesn't look all that bad, maybe it's worse in person, but it looks like those could be buffed out by a good detail guy. at the very least it could be wet sanded and then polished up.

Just look at what this person was able to do with the paint job on this Porsche

IMO....you paid for a brand new jeep, so that's exactly what you should get. I wouldn't be happy about them wanting to repair it. It's their problem, not yours. Either they damaged it or it was damaged in transport, if it was done in transport, they should never have accepted it. That's if they checked it!
