Watching DVD
Was reading my manual today and it indicates that you can watch a dvd from the nav unit but only in certain states and ceratainly only while in park. I inserted a disc and all i get is the audio. There are several buttons on the screen that are faded out indicating to me that they are turned off.

Can anyone of you watch a dvd? If there is a cutout for certain states how does the vehicle know what state? If this is true and it is deactivated can my dealer turn it on through starscan?

Thanks, in advance.

Re: Watching DVD
I live in Connecticut and was told by the kid who prepped my Jeep that DVD viewing was deactivated due to state law. I had hoped that upgrading my firmware from 2.116 to 2.120 might restore DVD viewing, but it didn't. :(

Re: Watching DVD
You should be able to see the video if the vehicle is stopped and in Park, but not when it's in gear.

I can with the transmission in park. That's legal in Oregon. But the picture is atrocious; you're not missing much. The only real benefit of the DVD capability is that you can listen to a concert or lecture video while driving.
