Don't know the cause but it began near the firewall on the drivers side, guy had bought it from a friend he worked with.

 That's terrible. Poor fella, but at least he's okay. R.I.P. WJ, you've done your duty.

Are you a firefighter?

Yeah it is but it had done it's duty and the poor guy was safe. I'm private security but one of our duties is rapid response. I went through 5 fire extinguishers and the didn't even put a dent in the fire. Luckily fire and rescue got there just after the 5th one and put it out.

Either fuel injector o-ring leak, PCV hose leaked oil onto exhaust manifold, or electrical short.

Wow that sucks! This is what I was thinking though, also I think the fuel lines come up to the rail on the drivers side.

That's a damn shame. I wonder how long it was immolating before you guys got to it?

Re: Burnt WJ...

Wasn't that long, I was close by and on scene keepin it under control within 3 minutes of it being reported (as soon as it started smoking it was called in by an employee that was riding shotgun). Only thing they could find was that it was electrical and he had to of had a leak somewhere to make it flare up like it did.
