Brakes

I went out this morning to do a little shopping on the way home I found my 2012 overland to be slowing down very rapidly. I parked my Jeep and pressed and released the E brake thinking it might be engaged. I then tried to move my Jeep it took over 1500 rpm's to move it. The Dealer towed it back to their shop. Later they tolled me the brake switch is defective.
IS this possible can a brake switch cause the brakes to lock up?

Re: Brakes

Dealer fixed problem with brakes. They said brake switch broke holding brake pedal down. Go figure.
