Third Brake Light 2012 Grand Cherokee

Does anyone know how to remove the third brake light on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland? I also would like to know if anyone knows where to get a replacement as I have cracked mine being foolish and trying to pry it off.

disconnect the battery negative cable and isolate it seperately so it does not touch anything.

you have to remove the spoiler and the center high mounted stop lamp from the liftgate flip-up glass as a unit. To do this part, open the liftgate, locate the four mounting screws for the spoiler through the glass and remove. Remove the hinge nuts, remove the header trim, disconnect the electrical connector to the courtesy light, disconnect the washer solvent supply hose and have a jug handy incase it spills some, then disconnect the electrical connector. lower the liftgate, pivot the spoiler towards the front of the vehicle and try not to scratch the roof, remove the washer solvent grommet, and then remove the spoiler from the vehicle.

reach through the opening on the liftgate side of the spoiler to access and disconnet the wire harness connector from the connector receptacle on the back of CHMSL housing.

remove the two screws that secure the CHMSL to the spoiler

remove the CHMSL from the spoiler.

now for a replacement part, the part number is 5303754AF, I don't think i've seen an aftermarket for this part as of yet, but if you do, check the connectors and try to match it to your OEM
