Navigation question

I test drove a couple 2012s last week. One thing I forgot to write down. one of the nav systems allows you do do more in terms of using it. THe other was like my infiniti in that it pretty much shuts down once the vehicle is moving. Does anyone know which one (730RER, 730RHR, 430, etc.) is the one that still offers nav functionality while the vehicle is moving???

Thanks for any help.

Depending on what you mean, the 430 and 730 (both versions) allow nav functionality while the vehicle is moving. What is limited is the ability to type in locations, points of interest, etc. while the vehicle is moving. None of them allow that. To get around around this limitation, the 730RHR will allow voice prompts for navigation while the vehicle is in motion.

Re: Navigation question

The 430 does not enable Nav input once the vehicle is moving (haven't tried voice commands, though). Every OEM NAV system that I've used behaves the same way.

There are aftermarket solutions to crack this.

The 430 doesn't offer voice NAV commands. The 730 (RHR) does.

That might explain my inability to get it to work. Time to RTFM. :p

Mine does. Some functions are grayed out; I cannot, for example, type in an address. But I can select a destination from Favorites, for example, and "GO" there.
