Strut Issues

Has anyone had any issues with front/rear struts in their WK2? It seems like the front -end of my 2011 Limited has become much more bouncy over bumps and the overall ride has become much harsher. I've checked tire pressures and they are ok so I'm not sure what the problem may be, if any.

Maybe they are at the breaking in stage. Have you changed the roads you drive on? Changed your style of driving?

hi there,

there are a few tsb`s for the wk2 for the front and rear suspension.

02-005-100 is to check the front coil springs for bowing and if they are indeed bowed in, they need replacing.

17-002-11 is to apply rtv sealant and nye grease to the rear upper jounce bumpers, this one requires leaving the vehicle for a day or so to allow the rtv sealant to set.

17-002-10 and 17-001-11 are to replace the upper shock mounts all together.

Talk to your local dealership and ask the service advisor if your vehicle falls within the guidelines for these TSB`s, usually it requires a date check with the VIN.

Yes that it is one of the problems with mine as well. 3.6 quadralift..

that started in between the creaking and the slapping. Now the slapping overtakes the feeling of (no absorbtion).

i just posted a pick of my shock/strut with the vehicle lifted onot OR2 in suspensions thread. A little oil seepage is visible and was trying to ask others if it looks like a blown shock/strut..
