daytime running lights

Could someone tell me if it is normal for my running light to go out on the same side when I turn on my turn signal. If I turn on my left turn signal my left daytime running light goes out until I turn the turn signal off then it comes back on . Is this normal or do I have a problem . Hope someone can help !! Thank you

Re: daytime running lights

Yes, it is normal. It is to improve visibility of the signal lamp to other drivers by removing the competing light source (running lamp).

The Audi LEDs do the same thing. I think it looks like crap, but I understand it's to improve visibility of the signal lamp to other drivers.

Yeah it's a tech solution to a problem created by the DRLs in the first place.

Yes its a great idea, Chrysler should be applauded, its a safety thing, why have 9 airbags and nothing else, as said earlier it stops the competing light from restricting others view of the indicator.
