Lower facia grille options

OK...so after having color-matched the front grille surround, and with plans to do something with the silver insert in the near future, and having removed the tow hooks (at least for now), I've moved on to contemplating making a custom insert for the open area below the bumper and between the fog lamps (circled below). Have you guys seen anyone do something like like this? I was thinking about maybe black mesh?

Opinions? Suggestions?

I am going the mesh route. Probably a gray to match my painted bumpers and side panels. I think black would look good with your paint.

Me too....
Picking up a new grille (black) out of Sydney next weekend and also looking at replacing the same bottom grille as you have outlined

Black amplimesh will not only look good but will also provide great protection for the radiator.
Got to love stainless steel...........

You are using amplimesh right???????

I'm not quite sure what Amplimesh is...but what I'm planning on using is either alumium or stainless expanded metal and then painting it black.

Something like this:

Never heard it called that before! Learn something new everyday...maybe I'll swing by HomeDepot at lunch and see if they have anything.

I think either black or the same style and color as your upper will look sharp.

A black mesh of some sort would look good in there. Then body color the upper grille insert! Or at least the main bars, leave the rest silver.

That's what I'm picturing....nothing good at Home Depot or Tractor Supply...I think "Da Zone" has something I can special order that's pretty inexpensive.

Check out eBay, that's where I got my stainless mesh for the lower grille on mine. Looks like the mesh you posted on your second post Tony.

Provides protection for the rads down there and looks great. :D

Sweet...Thanks Marty...I'll do that. I didnt' know you had mesh installed in the lower facia. I know your front end is different than mine, but do you have any pics of the front of yours you could post up?

Maybe I'll give this a shot...hard to beat for under $25 for a 6"x36" sheet...and I don't have to paint it! Aluminum with black powdercoat. I'll probably layer on some clearcoat for good measure.
