Powder coating rims on leased car
My car is leased for 3 years and I would really like to powder coat my OEM Overland 20's black. Will this cause problems with the dealership?? I would much rather powder coat the OEMs than pay for new black rims/tires. Has anyone done this with their leased car? Thoughts?

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Ultimately, you will have to ask your dealer.

Check this out, its not powdercoat - but its not too shabby either.

Plus its temporary - rips right off when you don't want the black anymore

X2!! When you have a lease you're not supposed to change anything on the vehicle without the dealer's knowledge, no way.

You can't alter the car from original. Remember you do not own the car. The dealer owns it. You only have the right to use it for 3 years here. The solution with wrapping the wheels is great. My wife wraps trucks and she has recently had guys with Benz's looking for a custom treatment that they can reverse. A lot of the boy racer cars here in Toronto have matt black paint that is really a wrap.
