1 month old and :/.....

So my Overland is a month old now with 600+ miles on it. Absolutely love this car. Bought the car for myself, but the wife jacked it from me. So she drives it 80 percent of the time. Anyhow, Finally got a chance to give her a clean bath this past week. I like to wash and detail my own cars to see anything that goes on with them. And then my heart just skipped a beat...as I was cleaning the wheels, I discovered a curb checked on the passenger rear wheel. Asked the wife how the heck did you curb check a SUV? Ofcourse their response is always: what??!! I dont know or even noticed it happened...c'mon!!! So I spent the literary the whole day researching places to fix them in Houston. Any recommendations and is the hyper silver finish hard to match? Has anyone experience this and got it done? Its really not that bad at all.. But im anal with my toys, especially when its brand freaking new. Just needed to vent..thnx

let it go.... if you had to be that close to notice it dosent sound that bad. wait a year and see if you get more damage to them than it might be a worthwhile investment to get em fixed

I found a decent chip on my 20's the other day. My jeep is 1 week old w/ 400 miles.. Good luck getting it fixed. I already gave my wifey the warning on curb checkin those wheels... Luckily she never really needs to parallel park.. I have already given up since the kids have the backs of the seats all scuffed from kicking them with shoes on, window needs replaced due to transit damage and the wheel chip already...

Agree its worth looking after good things but In the words cat Stevens, The first cut is the deepest. I feel your pain but it's good to get it out of the way because I can guarantee there'll be more.

I know they are in Dallas, and I think they are in Houston too. Check out Wheel Doctor. Usually about $100/wheel. When I was in the wholesale car biz, we used to use them a lot. Amazing results.

I found a deep gouge in mine a few months ago. I was pretty disguested with myself. I was thinking of all these ways to fix it like using a Dremel to sand it down and polish it. Just the other day I found another on the other side. At this point, though, I'm going to just leave it.

There was another Summit around my neighborhood and I looked at his wheels and they were scratched up worse than mine. This is just something to expect when we need to parallel park on the street.

I don't have those concerns, my wife drove mine for the first time last night and she hated it she said it is big and lazy (not me the Overland)

Anyway did you think of buying another wheel and using the damaged one as a spare, I just ordered a new one off ebay for $220 and it is a polished one, I am going to use it for a matching spare that I will rotate with the other 4, just have to get a tire now.

Thanks for all the input..day 2 is still buggin me on this..lol.. I think im going to give Auto Master a shot at next wk at this. Read reviews and they are mobil and seen pics of theirs work..pretty decent in pictures. They are part of a international company AWRS that does wheel repair...hopefully they can do a good job where its not noticeable. I'll let you guys know how it goes..as far as parking wise, parallel parking in Houston for us is very minimal atleast...probaly encounter a p-parking 1-2 times a yr for us if anything...so I still don't know how this happened.

If it makes you feel better, I took mine on a trail here in Arizona, and had a few "badges" on three of my rims from the rocks on my 20's.
Gonna be honest... It stung quite a bit, but now that I know it's not from the grocery store-it's a thing of pride now!!

I have this garbage on my wheels (foto attached) since last summer that I spent with my Jeep in the mountains of the Caucasus. Thank God - is the only thing has suffered in the car during this time.

First I wanted to repaint the rims with powder paint in matt black ...

Then has appeared the possibility to cover the rims with chrome at the galvanic workshop at the local plant ...

and then came the winter ...

Jeep was happy - the whole body from head to feet was covered with dirt, don't even can be seen which the color this GP was at this time, not to mention the rims...

Because of this I've stopped thinking about repainting ...

By now I don't even notice my ragged wheels - probably already got used to it or my mind had left all the bad thoughts - they are gone together with the last winter frosts
