Simple mods

I've done a few simple mods. Thought I'd take a few pics and share with everyone here. They're nothing special, and anyone can do these. But from what I read in some of these threads, I should be seeing about an extra 100 hp and an additional 10-15 mpg. So if figured they're worth the investments.

Love the vent visors, what kind do you have? Also the pedals are great where did you get them?

+1 Bright Silver :)

The vent visors are WeatherTech. I really like that these don't flare outward alot, and keep a tighter line. Now I can cruise along at 55 and 60 with the sunroof open and just crack the side window to release the buffetting air pressure wave thing. I took the antenna off and put the shark fin on, I've noticed no difference at all in any reception. The mudflaps are more for purpose than for looks, but I don't mind how they look. And keeping that yellow/orange mud off the bottom corners is priceless! I tinted the front windows to match the rest, and put the sport pedals on. Now when I got those and looked at the back to see how they attached, I thought oh, this looks easy enough........NOT!! I had a heck of a time getting the brake pedal cover on. So, here's a tip for those that run into this problem. Before you get on the foot well of the truck, pull the rubber finger thing on all fours sides open and back as far as you can and then with duct tape, tape it in place, pulling it over the face of the pedal cover, then do all four sides like that, then put the cover over the brake pedal and release the tape on opposite sides while you work the rubber glove around the pedal. If you get any glue residue stuck on the pedal cover, just use some mineral spirits or turpentine to get it off, then clean that off with some interior cleaner or glass / multi-surface cleaner.

I just heated my brake pedal and pressed it on. One corner is a bit deformed, but it's attached securely. Did the same with the gas pedal and it clicked right on.

Are those the Jeep mud flaps? They don't look as bad as I thought. I've got a bright silver Overland too... did they go on easily? What about the window vents? Finally, what percent tint did you go with on the side glass?

Thanks,

B

Yep, the splash guards or mudflaps are from Jeep. Very easy install. I think it took me all of 20-30 minutes. They come off just as easy too. The window vents had a couple installation clips that had to be put into place, but still a fairly easy install. I didn't need any tools for it. The window tint is 20%.

Nice, but the increase in mpg actually comes from the chrome fog bezels, so get those too.

Oh, that must be why I'm only "feeling" the HP gains with the butt dyno. Ok. I'll get those next and see if they help with the MPG's. I figure a good halogen light fluid upgrade to full synthetic and a quality transistor on the MAF to make it think it's 60 degrees outside all the time will really help me keep up with the new corvettes and Porsches. I love the look on thier face when they get beat by a 4x4! LOL!!!!!!!
