flipper glass unlatches itself for no reason

I just purchased a 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo and I reall like it. I have an issue with the rear flipper glass unlatching itself for no reason. Has any one else had a similar problem?

No. Does this happen when the vehicle is parked or only when in motion? I'd take it in for warranty work.

Could possibly be something funky with the key fob. The early WK2 fobs have a button to release the flipper glass. It was the bottom left button (now blacked out on newer fobs, but you can still enable it by taking the fob apart and moving the metal contact from the panic button to the flipper glass button). Long shot, but try pressing the bottom left button on your fob to see if it unlatches the glass.

Yup, had the same problem.... had the rear button changed under warranty... All good now, apparently if the switch get a little wet inside it gets a mind of its own!

Same here. Welcome to the club! Had the switch assembly replaced under warranty and haven't had a problem since.
