Nitrous ,ZEX kit on 5.7

5 Attachment(s)
Ok time for something new for my jeep . I got a big plan to stroke my 5.7 but with today’s economy… well saving money for that will take a while … So I came with another idea J
Universal ZEX nitrous kit. I had it left over from other project so why not …I spend couple of h installing the bottle ,lines etc .I still have to run electric and fuel to the control box. I’m planning to spray the jeep between 75-100 hp shoot , I was thinking about extra fuel cell and external fuel pump with racing fuel to drop the tep when spray. Another thing I will go with lower heat spark plugs. Than some custom gauges etc .:)
Guys if anybody tries that already on your 5.7s let me know, any tips are helpful.
Thanks

I know i still have to clean the engine after winter :D

Every Zex kit my buddies have installed have ended up having problems. There are better brands out there.

All the spray in the world isnt going to help you get off the line as per your other thread.

Might want to consider a custom tune, drop a few degrees of timing out of it. But still keep a premium fuel tune for when you're not sprayin.

Ditch the ZEX NMU!

Get a proper set of solenoids (Nitrous Express, Nitrous Outlet)

Get a MSD digital window switch so your Nitrous will come on only at WOT and only between 3k rpms until 6k rpms. The upper rpms need to be set a few hundred below your WOT shift point (just to be nice to your trans and not spray through the shifts). DO NOT spray before 3k rpms.

Per 50 shot retard timing 1.5-2 degrees.

2 step colder plugs

Secondary tank and pump for your high octane fuel of choice.

Fuel pressure safety switch

Blow down tube

A fuel pressure, Nitrous and AFR gauge

A heater blanket and a remote opener if you like

DON'T forget a very good tune!

Also your nozzel placement is not in the greatest spot, it's workable but there is a better location. Your spraying right at a 90* bend and it's going to hit that and collect. You want to spray directly into the TB about 3-4" away for the best atomization/dispersion.

Thank really appreciate !!!! I will consider for shore:thumbsup:
Window switch fore shore ,as well as plugs , and tune but what you think about extra fuel cell , is it necessarily with 75-100 shot ?
and what you mean "Blow down tube"

Can I use zex control box with that rpm switch?

Thanks
