Seat belt chime disable - WK2 SRT8

I was wondering if anyone has found a way to disable the seat belt chime yet ? I tried the older srt8 method and it works for only that drive. It turns back on as soon as the car is re-started. I always wear the belt but have some stubborn friends lol. Btw I absolutely love this truck, came out of a 2008 mitsubishi Evolution X.

I saw some.seatbelt thingys on eBay. You just click them in and it fakes the belt into thinking its clicked. But imo....make them wear the belt....its the law here in ky.

Yes, take it to your dealership, find a nice helpful tech who's willing to toss the scanner on the car, and ask him/her to disable the chime through the programmer. 2-seconds and you never hear it again. Already done on mine.

On many other forums the replies come in within minutes so this is slow to me.

Thanks guys

I have a 2011 5.7 limited and I did this when I first bought car about a year ago. Memory is a little hazy but i'm pretty sure this was what i did. i'd assume it would work for the srt8 also, hopefully.

Fasten seatbelt with engine off
Start car
Unfasten and fasten seatbelt 3 times and end with setbelt fastened
Start car again with seatbelt fastened

Hope it works, all it does is trick the sensors. If i leave my engine on and step out of vehicle, the chime will go off. But when i am in it, no chime:D

I believe it's the law in every state and regardless, there no rational reason to not wear a seat belt.

No rational reason?

I drive customers around my work, getting in and out repeatedly. There is no rational reason TO wear a seat belt in this case. In any event it should be up to the purchaser to deactivate it if he/she feels the need. Not the law man!

Actually, unless you live in New Hampshire and are an adult it is the law.

I have no idea what your work situation is but if you are operating the vehicle on a public thoroughfare then they are required under law in 49 states.

The law is to wear a seat belt. Not to have an annoying chime that I can't deactivate. Isn't that what this thread its about?
