1st Service in Canada

So I finally had the first service done in Canada. Everything seemed to have gone find but two days later the change oil message came on. While checking the invoice to call the dealer back I noticed they had only put 5 liters of oil in the HEMI. I did bring this up to the dealer and they said the mechanics know what they are doing. Quite helpful...

As far as I know the HEMI takes around 7 quarts of oil which is 6.6 liters whereas the V6 takes 6 quarts or 5.6 liters. I believe it is safe to assume they don't service that many Jeeps with the HEMI, and most likely have put the same amount of oil in my HEMI that they usually put in the V6's.

The dipstick doesn't help much so my question to you folks is -- should I top off the engine with another liter of oil or maybe even 1.5 liters?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Why would the dipstick not be your first choice to confirm the level? If the level is at the top of the SAFE zone, you're done.

I agree the dipstick should be your first choice. I'd make 110% sure of the brand and grade of oil they used before you top up. Speaking of grade, these vehicle know when oil needs changing so Im guessing If the dipstick is fine you need to be more concerned about the grade of oil they put in. A scan tool can tell you whether the oil is suitable for the hemi.

Disclaimer: Im ranked below the level of backyard mechanic.

Go back to the dealer.
Tell them to drain the oil.
Watch them put 7 qts (6.6L) of 5w20 into it.

Dont take the person's word the mechanics know what they're doing.
Clearly your invoice shows 5L.

You're paying for the oil change, you expect to have it done right.
