Re: Tax On Extended Warranty
yep - i ran into exactly the same thing except i didn't even think about it when i bought my lifetime. i got my dealer to match the lowest online price but then didn't even think about tax. it ended up being like $120.

i ended up canceling the lifetime because i wanted a 7 year instead and that is when i found out about the tax. the dealer said they had to charge tax and thought everyone else did too but that is not the case.

i ended up buying my 7 year from they had the best price out of anyone and no tax. for the lifetime though i think they were $50 higher because they charge for the 4X4.

i would just buy online for no tax. there is absolutely no difference if it's one of the chrysler max warranties.

Re: Tax On Extended Warranty
This depends on your state of residence. In CA, warranties (and other paper products) are not taxable. Many east coast states, however, do tax them. This is up to your home state, not the warranty provider or dealer.
