Stolen Antenna from my 2010 Jeep Cherokee:

I have just discovered that my Antenna and the assembly was stolen from my jeep. I see nothing but a hole where the antenna use to be. Does anyone know if I should go to a dealership to get a new one (worried about the cost) or is there a way to do it myself? I figured after some research that I will need the Mast, base, and cable. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thankyou.

IIRC I have dealt with this on this one srt8 grand. it came in twice like 2 weeks apart, both times the antenna assembly missing. The base that has the cable attached to it is going to be down in your fender. if you get the base and an antenna, so long as there is no other damage done, you should just be able to screw the retainer on the base (that screws to the guts currently dangling in the fender) then screw the antenna to it and viola.

If you call your local dealer's parts department or look on j4j you need the following part numbers.

56038725AC antenna mast

56038729AE antenna body cap

56038730AC antenna escutcheon

(numbers 1-3 on the above picture)... should not be too bad. im not sure if there is any ferrous metal in the base assembly so im not sure if a magnet will even work, I will say I have fished em out a couple times through the gap in the fender to inner fender with the hood up... it may be easier to pull the fender liner out (not sure).

Thanks for the picture it helps, but I will need all the numbers (1-4). All that is there is a hole. I do see it can be done fairly easy with the hood up but not too sure where to plug the antenna cable or how to acess where to plug it? I talked to the dealership and they want 200 dollars for parts and labor, a little to steep for my blood. I am hoping to find a skimatic of the antenna cable layout so I know how to route the cable and where to plug it in.

Thanks

no, there is a hole because 2 and 3 hold up 4 against the fender, once 2 and 3 are removed 4 is attached with nothing and drops into the fender.

Hey! similar issue with me except my mount piece fell into the fender when the car washer unscrewed the antenna. Not his fault, but hey it happened. Did you fix it yourself or took it to the stealership?
