Front Air-dam Removal
Page 237 of the manual under Off-road Driving Tips casually states. "Prior to off-road driving, remove the front air dam to prevent damage. The front air dam is attached to the lower front fascia with seven quarter turn fasteners and can be removed by hand". That sounds like a good idea and easy too, or so I thought. The quarter turn fasteners came out without too much trouble. The two ends unclipped fairly easily but that's where it stopped. There in no way I could see of getting the centre section of the air-dam off without damaging the clips. Also, after looking in there, I'm not so sure it is a good idea. It leaves the radiator and the windscreen washer bottle exposed to flying rocks. Mine is the 2012 model with the modified front end. Perhaps it is just a 2012+ issue. Any ideas?

Re: Front Air-dam Removal
Just found a couple of threads where people have come up against this problem. There are some good tips but still not an easy job:

Re: Front Air-dam Removal
the motor for the quadra lift is exposed when you take it off
on the drivers side it seems too much is exposed

Re: Front Air-dam Removal
I'll be looking to see if I can make some sort of shield out of amplimesh or something similar, that can be attached when the dam is removed. At least to keep debris out when the dam is off.

I need the car first though.
