ADD SRT8 Brembos to your wk2? see last couple pages

Im gonna add the Jeep SRT8 Brembos to my 2011 Durango. I plan to have brackets made for a cheap and easy install. Anyone else interested in adding the brembos to their wk2? FYI-the brembo calipers are NOT expensive...even the new 2012 front brembos! Post here if interested!

Definitely interested...

Any thoughts on distinguishable stopping performance gains over the stock brakes that come with the hemi??

the brembos will really start to shine and perform better under heavy braking. There will be much less fade and loss of braking like you will get with the stock brakes under heavy loads and braking. The stock brakes will perform similar to the brembos for a couple heavy stops....but when they get hot and start to fade....you are screwed. It doesnt take long

Although I have never felt I needed extra stopping power on my 2012 Overland, I think they would look pretty cool. The red calipers would look pretty goofy though on a non SRT8 Grand Cherokee or on a Durango. I think if the calipers were painted gloss black that would look pretty slick!

Brembos don't look goofy on anything....imo of course! Don't you ever do any spirited driving? There's awesome roads in my area for this and my brembos really make a HUGE difference. They would also help in towing heavier loads.

yes...around $300 each...NEW.. But these brackets will work with the much cheaper gen1 SRT LX and wk srt brembo front calipers as well

Something doesn't sound right - $300 for a brembo caliper? Most Brembo GT kits I know of retail for $5-6k for all 4 corners (that includes rotors, but stil...).

Regardless, I'm very interested. :D

For reference, one vendor has the WK SRT8 brake upgrade priced at:

Front Rotors: $323.20/pair
Rear Rotors: $184/pair
Brembo Front Pads: $283.20
Brembo Rear Pads: $327.20
Front Calipers: $784/pair
Rear Calipers: $864/pair
Rear Brake Adapter Plate: $118.80/pair
They don't list a front adapter plate.

So the total upgrade for a WK would run you $2,884.40 before shipping.

The Brembos are worth the cost.

I killed my stock brakes!

Maybe you took that the wrong way, what I meant was RED Brembo's would look goofy on a Overland or Durango. If they were painted a gloss black like the older WK SRT8's that would look very classy on a non-SRT vehicle. As for spirited driving, to be honest I have not done anything like that except get on it a few times.
Do you think there will be any wheel firmest issues with the non-SRT wheels? From looking at them it appears they would be different offsets.
