Crappy dampers on wk2.
Seems to me the shocks on wk2 are not very good. Ride quality is poor, lots of wheel hop, in general poor dampening capabilities.
Anyone else who is more of an enthusiast driver notice this? Or maybe mine has defective dampers?
Re: Crappy dampers on wk2.
Mine rides great. I have the factory towing package with the load-leveling shocks. I purposely bought mine with the 18" Michelin Latitudes and Q1, based on driving many 2011-12 GC's from our company fleet on longer trips (I drive 500-800 mile round trips around the midwest every other week on average).
I found that many of the GC's with Q2 and 20's tended to have a harsher ride and vibrations/humm at speeds over 60 mph on the freeway. The best ride was with the Q1 and 18's.
Tire air pressure is important, and I keep it at 34 psi cold on all 4 corners with the 18's.
So far, I have not been disappointed - and feel I made the right choice for myself. My 2012 GC Laredo X has 5500 miles on it and is one of the best riding and quietest vehicles I have ever owned in over 40 years. And tight as a drum - no rattle or squeeks anywhere.
