Viper Smart Start GPS or Mopar EVTS Electronic Vehicle Tracking system
So coming from a GM vehicle that had OnStar built into it and liking the features it offers I am looking for suitable replacements for my new Jeep Cherokee. I would like something that is able to recover the vehicle. The remote start/unlock/whatever, isn't too important, but an obvious nice addon. The two options I have been looking at so far are.

http://www.mopar.com/shop/evts/ with the Silver Plan
There doesn't seem to be that many different reviews of either system out there. The mopar system is a one time payment for the item and the service, which of course costs a bit more. The viper system is less expensive upfront, but you are spending $70 or so a year for a subscription.
Insurance deduction would come out to be a little less then $50 a year for me, so over the lifetime of the product it might actually help pay for it, but never fully.
My questions is given the option between the two, what would you pick and why? How easy or difficult is either to install? Would you recommend a different product such as lojack?
