Locking Wheel Nuts

This is a bit of an unplanned upgrade to be honest.

My Jeep has just undergone a pretty major brake overhaul and something else cropped up.

The mechanics at the garage told me to change my locking nuts ASAP as the design of them is flawed.

The ones on it now use a three hole system. The socket has three little nipples which fit into these holes. Now, the guys said if you side load the socket these nipples can break off and then your basically screwed - hence why they recommend getting new ones.

So, my question is what are the best ones to go for OR should I just leave them be?

Thanks in advance!

That's the name I was trying to remember, thanks Scott!

Do you know which style I need to go for (Cone, Shank, Bolt, Dually)? I've never removed them so I don't know. :o

cone

or bulge cone

24138 or if you want a tad longer 24198

in english, you want the cone seat, 1/2-20 thread, 3/4 hex size so your oem lug wrench works.

I'll need to skip the lug nuts for now, wallets still recovering from the brake work. :(

Re: Locking Wheel Nuts

Re: Locking Wheel Nuts

well they already came with black lugs for free normally 30 bucks. I dont understand how the locks work. So since I have lugs already all I need are locks?
