Since I got my '11, there have been several TSBs that address issues I haven't experienced yet. For example, there's a programming update for the power liftgate, which hasn't acted up at all (knock on wood).
I've got to bring it in for service, so my question is this: Should I ask the dealer to perform all TSBs available for my JGC - even if I haven't experienced a problem - or, well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it?
Input is appreciated.
Thanks.
It is mandatory to do update when car is in service even if the customer has not experience the problems.
TSB are non security issues and only will be done if car is in routine service. IF the car had a critical security TSB then you will be call to go to service.
I went the other day to do service in my 2012 and they check all possible TSB bulletins and perform fixes in my car while in service. This is, if the dealer is a great dealer and service is what they do best. Who would want a car back every month for TSB bulletins when you can do them when the car come in to service every once in a while.
They updated my radio, they change the rear shocks and I did not ask to do anything.

I am glad that everything got taken care of on your Jeep but honesty it has nothing to do with them being a "great dealer" or you "being cool to them". It all has to do with the bottom line of dollars and cents. Some of these service centers will look to apply all TSBs on a vehicle even if they are not needed so they can bill Chrysler for the work. Half the time when nothing is wrong they claim they fix something and really dont do anything but bill out the time. Also TSBs only apply to annoying non safety related problems and anything involving the safe operation of the vehicle is handled by a recall sent by mail.
On the other hand, the dealer could get in serious trouble with Chrysler for "faking" customer complaints in order to do warranty work. When you bring your Jeep in they scan your vin for all safety required updates, not all unless you have a specific complaint.
There is good service people and there is people who think nothing gets done at service when you take your car in. There is good service people all over the place and when you buy a new car in a good dealership you get good service....
on the 11:s there was a tsb for the rack and pinion. My dealer never checked that. I jacked it up, saw the related stuff to the tsb and brought it in. The rack being part of the steering would lead me to believe it should have been checked out but it was onky an issue for builds between four months, so I guess that is why it's a tsb.
Hey guys, great forum here... Is there a good thread here or link for all TSBs I can look at or print out before I bring my 11 Overland in for oil change service tomorrow? Great info here guys... Love this forum, thanks in advance!
How about software updates? I just saw a recent TSB for the hands free module...have not seen any problems but does it make sense to get the update anyway?

Thanks AK, for pointing me to that TSB 08-019-12 that deals with iPod sync issues with the 430N radio.
Two dealers had been unable to solve this intermittent problem over several months. My only WK2 beef is about to be solved! All is good.
