WK2 Deisel Economy
Got down to 8.7L/100km after 2,500km. Anyone gone any lower?
Popped back up to 9L today, but have a 400kg trailer on the back. Still happy with that, plus filled up today at woolworths petrol and got 20c off per litre with everyday rewards deal.

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
Hmm, mighty damn fine economy there. Not sure what ours will be though at this stage just clicked over 900k's and filled the tank. First time since purchase. Thats mostly the wife driving to and from work.

I'll work the mileage out then I'll take over for a week or so, almost guarantee I won't get the same mileage. Too used to driving the GTS.

We bought ours from Sydney and I drove it home to Maitland, fuel needle didn't move however if it was my GTS it would have chewed 1/4 of a tank.

This CDI is the goods.

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
This sounds awesome.

Our 2000 petrol Jackaroo would rarely get more than 350km out of an 85 litre tank in day to day suburban driving, and the best on a country run would be about 600km.

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
The best I have seen was 7.7 on a 400klm highway trip sitting on 105 most of the time. Did the same 400k trip last Sunday and sitting on 110 saw 8.0 (full tank + 4 people each trip and based on displayed economy)

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
Haven't reset the fuel economy since we got it and we are now about 4200kms and the economy reads 9.3L/100km

We have done mainly city driving but 1 trip to the country (1000kms) and only towed a light load once for about 150kms.

Have almost done the magical 1000kms on a tank - We did a 980kms one and trip computer said another 35kms, but i wasn't going to risk it. I dont think we have done less than 880km on a tank so far (but usually i have 80-100kms on the trip computer left)..

I thought all the underbody plating and rock rails might lessen the economy but we are so happy with the car so far in every facet!

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
It gets better if you do the math from your next fuel docket, ie litres vs kms traveled.

Going in for my 10k service soon so I'm expecting a little more fuel efficiency along with a little more zing!

Unfortunately after my 10k service fuel economy dropped off. Was getting 9/100kms now 9.8/100kms.....same driving

What oil did they use in the service?

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
You should be lower. I haven't reset mine since i purchased it. Has 4000k's and mine bounces between 8.6-8.8 l/100. (lowest was 8.5)

Does it reset itself every 1000 or something?

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy
Depends on usage. Mine fluctuates between 9.8 and 12

We took a diesel Lardeo for a weekend and did a trip down to the Gold Coast, with the wife driving we saw 6.8l/100ks this was with only 2000k's on the clock of this demo.

Re: WK2 Deisel Economy

After a reference of a fellow Australian, I thought I would write in to you guys and see your thoughts overall on the CRD. Has anyone seen any big problems? I see some pretty good economy numbers here mostly. Anyone got big Ks on thier CRD yet?
