New from PA, Lift question

Good morning everone. Awesome threads and great pics. I have a question concerning my 05JGC. I've read the threads about lifts, all of which is extremely helpful. My WK is completely stock right now. I have to get my front shocks replaced, I was going to use this opportunity to purchase a lift. I narrowed my choices down to two options.

1. Old Man Emu 2" lift. I have read that the system comes with front and rear coil springs and the shock absorbers...does this system come with everything i need for the lift? Or will I have to purchase a strut or something else?

2. Bilstein HD Shocks for all 4 (3/4" lift) $300.00 as well as the Rusty's Budget 2" lift for $159.00

I have to get either of these installed, with that being said, option #2 is cheaper. My question to you guys is...which one would be better?

I plan on getting 255/75/17 when my tires need changed..either getting 17x9 rims or keeping it stock and getting spacers for a beefier look.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals.

Hey Im also from the same area. Im running a 05 wk too. I had a rough country 2 inch lift put on and have had no problems with it. Also i put some 265/70 17 mts on stock wheels with 1.5 inch wheel spacers. I had my work done at truck stuff in bellefonte. They did a good job. A small lift and big tires does a lot for looks of the wks.

Thanks for the reply. Due to funds, I'm looking into the bilstein's plus the 2" rough country lift. Did you get all the parts at Truck Stuff? Or did you buy it elsewhere and have them install?

I had them order the parts in for me.

My 2 cents:

Buy quality shocks. Don't skimp on shocks/struts, you'll regret it.

If you want to run a 255/75/17 you need at least a 2" lift.

Wouldnt the bilstein's be quality? I'm looking into the shocks now, and then get the lift when i need new tires.

Yes, I didn't say they were not quality. I guess I meant that if you go with a packaged lift be sure the shocks are quality units. And if you go Bilstein be sure they are long enough for any lift you choose.

With just a 2" lift, the Bilstein HD's will work fine with ZERO problems.

Thanks to all that posted. I appreciate it. Looks like i'm going with the Bilstein HD's for now then going with the Rough Country lift.
