lift installed- leaking strut

So I had my RRO lift installed by 4 Wheel Parts in Raleigh, NC. Their first time working on a WK2. After the job was done the manager mentioned that pre-lift the front passenger side strut had showed signs of leaking a lot of oil and that I should get it replaced.

Not sure if it possible for them to have done that but I'm taking it to the dealer later today. Could the dealer blame it on the lift and/or install?

Also, after leaving the shop, I noticed the alignment sheet said it was done to WK (not WK2) specs. Does that matter?

Thanks.

My thoughts are that they should have advised you of the strut issue BEFORE continuing the work. Hopefully your dealer will come through for you. As for the alignment. .. I would think the specs would be different.

Depends on the dealer. Alot of them frown when you modify the suspension then stop in for warranty on a particular suspension part.

Alignment specs for Wk vs WK2 are quite different.

Dealer approved the warranty replacement and ordered a new strut.

I also called the shop and the service manager assured me the alignment was done to wk2 spec. Wk2 just aren't in their system yet so he had to modify he wk for the correct wk2 specs. Jeep drives like a champ.

Very nice! I am so in the air on buying another wrangler to wheel or lift my WK2,,,,, looking at your rig makes it tough. Great job!

Re: lift installed- leaking strut

it all depends on your definition of wheeling.

in my opinion.. the jeep with the lift is the way it should of came from the factory, except the srt's of course.

i was tired of driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and being the same height as a minivan.
